Rev. Randy Mitrovich Named Great Lakes Regional Minister

“We are very excited to add Randy to our team of gifted Regional Ministers as he assumes that role for the NAB Great Lakes Region (GLR),” affirms Dr. Tim Blackburn, Senior Leader for Discipleship. “Randy has been a lead pastor of a healthy church within that region for a number of years, as well as regional moderator for a two-year term. He has the gift mix, background, and leadership skills to be a tremendous asset, not only to the Great Lakes churches, but to our NAB team as well. As the Senior Leader for Discipleship, I am personally very excited to have Randy join the team as Regional Minister.”

Randy holds a B.A. from Bethel University in St. Paul , MN and received his Masters of Divinity at North American Baptist Seminary, Sioux Falls , SD.

Following seminary, Randy served as associate pastor at Meadowlark Baptist, Edmonton, AB for eight years (1981-1989). He accepted the senior pastorate of Century Baptist, Bismarck, ND in 1989 and led the church for eight years before assuming the senior pastorate of the Woodland Shores congregation. In 2004, Randy received an Eli Lilly Endowment Fund National Clergy Renewal Grant, traveling to the United Kingdom and northern California in 2005 while exploring the theme “Building Bridges – to God, One Another, and Our Community.” He recently concluded doctoral coursework at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, IL, and now begins work on his major project to complete the degree.

Dr. John Hosler, Great Lakes Region Moderator, is delighted that Pastor Mitrovich has accepted the invitation to serve the Great Lakes Region: “Randy comes to us with more than enough passion and experience to lead the Association forward in our objectives for the Kingdom of God,” he says. “He is a relentless learner, a great listener, and a gentle persuader. Please partner with me in prayer for the power of God upon the ministry of Randy and his wife, Sue, as he begins this new position on May 28th.”

Sue serves the NAB Conference Women’s Ministries on the bi-national Leadership Team and looks forward to connecting with pastors’ wives within the GLR. She received an M.A. degree in counseling from the NAB Seminary, has taught high school and college English, and at present is employed as a magazine editor. The Mitroviches have worked hand-in-hand in many ministry areas in the churches they have served. They have two daughters: Kate, a graduate student at Wayne State, Detroit, and Megan, a junior at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
